Luigi confirmed for Super Smash Bros. Brawl

Luigi from the Mario series has been confirmed to return for Super Smash Bros. Brawl. He is known as the second fiddle and later as "everyone's favorite man in green." He was once my favorite Nintendo character from the NES days up until the GameCube days, when Marth came to America via Super Smash Bros. Melee and overtook him. Marth later passed the throne of my favorite Nintendo character to the obscure female character called Ayra from Fire Emblem: Seisen no Keifu. Therefore, in my opinion, the well-known Luigi would represent the old days of my life (1979-2003) and the obscure Ayra would represent the new days of my life (2004-present).

To unlock Luigi in the original Smash Bros., you must beat the Target practice mode with each of the initial characters, and you must face him in a match and beat him after satisfying the aforementioned condition. To unlock him in Super Smash Bros. Melee, you must beat the first stage of Adventure Mode with a 2 in the seconds digit (e.g. 2:42:86). Afterwards, you will see Luigi kick his older brother Mario away and so he can fight you with Peach by his side. You must defeat both of them, and then finish Adventure mode. Another way to unlock Luigi in Melee is to play 800 Versus mode (or Melee mode) matches. Again, you must face him in a match and beat him after satisfying either of the aforementioned conditions. To unlock Luigi in Super Smash Bros. Brawl, you must beat Classic Mode with no continues, or play 22 matches of Brawl mode, or have him join you in The Subspace Emissary. With the except of the last method, you must face him in a match and beat him after satisfying either of the aforementioned conditions.

Luigi's Final Smash is called "Negative Zone." When he unleashes his Final Smash, funky world music fades in and the close area is enclosed in the Negative Zone. Opponents who step into the Negative Zone are plagued by random sorts of negative effects, such as reduced attack power, sudden death, increased likelihood of slipping, reduced defense, the Lip's Stick effect, dizziness, reckless taunting, sudden fatigue, deceleration, etc. If you fall asleep or get dizzy in the Negative Zone, you are doomed to suffer Luigi's Fire Jump Punch.
